The #1 Tip For Fixing Twisted Car Seat Straps

It’s inevitable– you are rushing to go somewhere important and when buckle your child in their car seat, you notice one of the straps is twisted.  Ughhhhhhhh.  It.is.so.annoying.  You have two choices: fight with the straps for seemingly forever and maybe get them untwisted…or buckle your child in with it twisted, which we know is unsafe because it cannot properly spread crash forces out over a wider area of the body.  Until now. When I learned about this trick a year or two ago, I couldn’t believe how simple it was and how many years I had wasted fighting with those stupid straps!  This may seem intuitive to some people, but for me it definitely wasn’t.  “Fixing” things is not in my wheelhouse.  So when I find a super easy way to solve a problem, I love to tell the world about it!  Watch my video for the demonstration on twisted car seat straps on the Cosco Scenera NEXT (featured in my guide for the most budget-friendly car seats).

  14. This makes me so crazy especially with a screaming baby. My son hated the car seat when he was younger but now he wants to do it himself. We are constantly trying to make sure he is secure in the seat and he keeps telling us, “I can do it!” 🙂
