Something crazy that happened this week
My oldest son got some kind of stomach bug, which thankfully seems to be over. We had some fun twists that included me stepping in some of his barf and the delight of cleaning up barf on the top of his bunk bed. Bunk beds made things WAY HARDER for the record.
Something awesome that happened this week
My husband and I had our 10 year anniversary! Time really has flown by. In some ways I feel so old, but in others I feel like we haven’t aged a day! We plan to go on a date this weekend to celebrate.
Weekly Roundup of Awesomeness
Here’s a few things I’ve discovered recently and am LOVING. I’ve broken it down into categories similar to the “4 Things for Christmas” theme.
Something You Want
If you’re looking for a new convertible car seat (which also converts to a booster), the Evenflo Symphony DLX All-In-One Convertible Car Seat is 20% off on Amazon today! I did an extensive review of this car seat which you can read here. This seat is quite large so it’s not the best for compact cars, but it has an amazing ratcheting feature with LATCH that tightens it without you pulling anything. Check it out if you’re in the market!
Something You Need
These doorknob covers! They are so much better than the other childproofing devices for doorknobs.
KidCo Door Knob Lock – White, 5 Pack
There so childproof, even adults can’t get out of my house (but, they are actually really easy to open. Just different than what people are used to)!
Something to Wear
I recently tried this Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil by iT Cosmetics and I’m loving it! The color depends on the amount of pressure you use, so you can get a very light brown to dark brown. This helps clumsy hands people like me from making tragic brow mistakes by avoiding too much color in the wrong places. I think I got this a little cheaper at Ulta.
Something to Read
I finished this book (Audiobook, as always for me) a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. There’s just so much that happened before, during, and after the Revolutionary War that brought the reality of the sacrifices so many made to strive for freedom. The soldiers had horrible conditions for much of the war. It made everything feel so much more real. And..no, our country and our leaders were never perfect, but I believe they did the best they could at the time.
Killing England: The Brutal Struggle for American Independence
Speaking of reading, did you catch this post that was published on the blog this week?
