As many of you know, dinner time is not my favorite. Why the people in my house need to eat every day is beyond me. I always try to look for cooking shortcuts so I can spend my time doing things I enjoy more. When Southside Market & Barbeque offered to send me some complimentary Sausage Slammers to try for an easy BBQ dinner, I immediately agreed!

Sausage Slammers consist of cheddar stuffed jalapenos wrapped in pork sausage which is then wrapped in bacon. Each package comes with three sausage slammers and will arrive in cold packaging. To prepare, all you need to do is heat the sausage slammers on the grill or in the oven for about 30 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the internal temperate reaches 165 degrees. We left our meat thermometer (similar to this one) inserted while the meat was in the oven so we knew the right time to take it out. Be sure to use a quality sheet pan to ensure even cooking (I’m a new fan of Great Jones bakeware).
The sausage slammers tasted great! They were very filling and I was surprised that I was satisfied after eating just one. They tasted fresh without any sort of indication that they were prepared in another kitchen. The bacon was caramelized and crispy. I served the sausage slammers with these green beans to complete this quick and easy BBQ dinner.
