Moms don’t usually have a lot of extra time for themselves. But sometimes, we still want to look cute! Over the years I’ve tried lots of different brands of makeup trying to find things that are easy to use, give me the most bang for my buck, and STAY ON. Low maintenance fits the bill when looking for makeup for moms.

I’ve rounded up some of the products that have worked well for me personally. My basic makeup routine varies from day to day. Sometimes I just put on facial sunscreen and go, and other times I do a full face. But usually, I do something in between. I might put on a tinted sunscreen or CC cream, some blush, and maybe some mascara or lipstick. Ultimately, I try to keep it simple…and using good quality products helps make that easier.

Here are my favorite pics for low-maintenance makeup for moms!

Best Facial Makeup For Moms

My top choice for what I apply as a base for my face is a tinted moisturizer, CC cream, or something similar. I don’t really like foundation. Here are a few of my favorite picks, in order of preference.

  1. Smashbox Halo Healthy Glow All-In-One Tinted Moisturizer SPF 25 I love this! It seems more like a CC cream to me than a tinted moisturizer because it gives good coverage and also has sunscreen. It also gives a glowing effect.
  2. Mary Kay CC Cream SPF 15 This was my favorite product for YEARS. It gave good coverage and the sunscreen worked really well. I wore this on many vacations and outdoor events and never got sunburned.
  3. EltaMD UV Clear Tinted Face Sunscreen, SPF 46 This is nice for when you’re in a hurry. It gives just a hint of tint and the sunscreen is excellent.
  4. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream This seems more like a foundation to me than a CC cream. It provided EXCELLENT coverage, but ultimately it’s too much for me to use every day. But it is a high-quality product.

Best Blush For Moms

Blush is my all-time favorite type of makeup. I wear blush more often than anything else. I like the extra pop of color. I absolutely love NARS blush. It’s highly pigmented so you don’t need to use a lot, so it lasts a LONG time. Even though it’s a higher price point, it’s totally worth it.

  1. NARS Blush in Orgasm
  2. NARS Blush in Orgasm X
  3. IBY Highlighter

Best Mascara For Moms

Mascara is so much fun. I’ve probably tried dozens of different brands and variations. This is my current lineup of favorite mascaras.

  1. Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions This mascara is amazing! It makes your lashes so long with fairly little effort and product.
  2. Benefit They’re Real Magnet Extreme Lengthening Mascara This mascara is really smooth and doesn’t get clumpy when you apply it. It lengthens nicely.
  3. Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara If you’re looking for a waterproof mascara, I really haven’t found anything better than Covergirl! It gives the right balance of coverage and lengthening without being too much.

Other Eye Makeup For Moms

I fill in my brows almost every day. My overall favorite eyebrow is the one by Winky Lux. It’s the perfect color for me and not too light and not too heavy. The IT cosmetics pencil is really good too.

  1. Winky Lux Uni Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil This just works. I can’t really explain why, but it’s my favorite. Other brow pencils are too light or too heavy. This is just right.
  2. IT Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil This is buildable, so if you’re not sure how much pigment you need, this is a good way to go.
  3. Tarte Sex Kitten Liquid Liner This goes on very crisp and I love the look. It was the first liquid eyeliner I could use correctly.
  4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner If you’re looking for waterproof, this is a great pick!
  5. Urban Decay Naked 3 Mini Eyeshadow Palette I don’t wear eyeshadow often, but when I do, I really love playing with this palette. There are tons of tutorials online on how to best use the Naked palettes which I found really helpful.
  6. Tre’stique Shadow Crayon This is super easy to use and can quickly add a lot of pop to your look with very little effort.

Best Lipstick For Moms

My number one criteria for a lipstick is that it MUST STAY ON pretty well. I don’t have the time or patience to check to see how my makeup is doing or to reapply. I don’t want to worry about anything smearing. Maybelline is my ultimate favorite brand. Their products are tried and true!

  1. Maybelline Super Stay 24 Liquid Lipstick- Continuous Coral This has been my favorite for over a decade. It’s just the best at staying on. You can apply the liquid lipstick, and when it dries you can apply the clear balm to hydrate your lips and add some shine.
  2. Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick This is a more recent favorite of mine. I love the variety of colors and the matte look. It stays on pretty well…not quite as well as the liquid lipstick, but still really good.
  3. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick This is a really good “regular” lipstick that stays on really well. It only takes me a few seconds to apply and once it’s set, I’m good all day!
  4. Smashbox Always On Cream to Matte Lipstick, Besos This is a higher end lipstick I’ve found that stays on really well. It does some off a little while eating and drinking, but besides that, it stays put!

I hope this list has been helpful to anyone who is looking for products that are easy to use and add into a busy routine. There are so many choices out there, it’s overwhelming to know what to try. This is a pretty good starting point to help you find what you love!
